Tips for Telehealth Success

Telehealth can be an excellent resource for a child to continue to receive therapy during circumstances that prevent in-person therapy. Telehealth can give your child’s therapist a unique perspective to your child’s therapy and home environment that is not as easily accessible to the therapist in the traditional in-person therapy setting.

Some key factors to a successful telehealth appointment are to:

  • Have high speed internet on either a computer/tablet. A phone is not recommended.

  • Facilitate a quiet environment free from distractions, such as background TV, traveling in the car, other persons talking/playing/making noise, being a public setting.

  • Communicate with your child’s therapist prior to the session to prepare any necessary supplies.

  • Be present and assist child as necessary to encourage them to fully engage during the session.

We look forward to working with each of our clients face to face—whether in person or via telehealth!
