Having fun with Food-Free Game!
Make eating fun! At Chatterbox, we provide feeding therapy for both sensory-based and oral motor-based feeding concerns.
At home, try the following with your child to take the stress out of mealtime and encourage your child’s positive relationship with food:
Play with your food, and make a story (i.e. broccoli is little trees, and we are a giant eating little trees)
You’re mad scientists exploring new crazy flavor combinations
Make funny faces with the food on your child’s plate
Always provide a preferred food and a non-preferred or new food item together
It's ok to get messy while you and your child explore new foods!
Another idea to try at home is our Fun with Food Dice Game! Download the directions, plate chart, and the game board! When exploring new foods, have a food dice that the parent and child can take turns rolling, where the dice will instruct you to either lick, kiss, smell, touch, bite, or chew the food on the plate chart. Happy eating!
