Nikki K., Co Owner, Director of Finance, Speech-Language Pathologist

Academics and Special Achievements Nikki graduated with a Master’s in Speech and Language Pathology from Idaho State University in 2006. Nikki has been practicing as a Speech-Language Pathologist for 13+ years and enjoys mentoring clinical fellows and graduate students.

Special Interests and Experience Nikki is co-owner of Chatterbox Pediatric Therapy Center, established in 2008. She is the Director of Finance for Chatterbox but truly enjoys working with all types of kiddos, especially toddlers and preschoolers as well as children with Autism.

Personal Interests Nikki’s hobbies include reading, and spending time with her kids and her extended family. In her downtime she enjoys attending concerts and events, and trying out new restaurants.Nikki has 3 children. Fun fact- Nikki is Basque and all of her children have Basque names!

Kirsten U., Co Owner, Director of Operations and Recruitment, Speech-Language Pathologist

Academics and Special Achievements Kirsten graduated with a Master’s in Speech and Language Pathology from Idaho State University in 2000. In her last year of graduate school, Kirsten received Outstanding Student Achievement award for the College of Health Sciences at Idaho State University. This award enabled her and all the Master’s level graduates of the Department of Speech-Language Pathology to receive their diplomas first before everyone else in the Health Science Department.

Special Interests and Experience Kirsten has been a speech-language pathologist for 20+ years. She and Nikki Kerns started Chatterbox in 2008 and prior to that time she worked in both in schools and with the Infant-Toddler Program treating children ages Birth to 3 in the home setting. She enjoys working with children of all ages, but she especially enjoys preschool and school aged language delay/disorders. She also enjoys working with children with apraxia and correct /r/ speech sound errors.

Personal Interests She has three children and a grandson. She enjoys spending time with her family, boating, taking walks with her dogs, home decorating, creating unique bird houses, gardening, and shopping.

 
 

Chatterbox Speech-Language Pathologist Team

Addie B, Speech-Language Pathologist

Academic and Special Achievements Addie graduated from Clemson University in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in Health Science. She then went on to obtain her master’s in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of South Carolina in 2021. 

Special interests and Experience Through clinical rotations, Addie gained experience working in the pediatric inpatient setting. She completed her clinical fellowship in South Carolina where she served both infants in the Neonatal ICU and school-age children in a private school. These experiences developed her passion for supporting medically-complex children and their families through speech therapy.  

Personal Interests Addie loves running, playing tennis, roller blading, baking, and spending time with family and friends! She is always down for an adventure, especially if it includes outdoor activities or costumes.  

Jenny L, Speech-Language Pathologist

Academic and Special Achievements Jenny graduated from Western Washington University in 2018 with a bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She then went on to obtain her master's degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences from Washington State University.

Special interests and Experience While Jenny has enjoyed working with both pediatric and geriatric populations in her graduate school experience, she has always wanted to work with children. Jenny has worked with a variety of disorders including speech and language delays, motor speech disorders, fluency, swallowing dysfunction, and social language.

Personal Interests In her free time, Jenny loves to read, play games with her family and friends, hike, paddle board, and explore all of the food and activities in Boise that she can. 

Maddie H, Speech-Language Pathologist

Academics and Special Achievements: Maddie graduated from Central Washington University in 2019 with her Bachelor's degree in Communication Studies. She completed her post-baccalaureate degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences in 2020 from Minnesota State University Moorhead. Maddie then graduated from the University of Mary in 2023 with her master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology. 

Special Interests and Experience: Maddie has always known she wanted to work with the pediatric population, and this career is an amazing way to do just that! She spent one semester of her graduate program within an elementary school placement and completed her externship at a pediatric private practice. Maddie currently sees children within the clinic setting at Chatterbox, as well as at Nampa and Middleton School districts. 

Personal Interests: In her free time, you can find Maddie teaching at a local dance studio in Boise! She has been a dance teacher for the past 7 years and plans to continue doing so throughout the rest of her career. You can also find Maddie spending time with friends and family, and exploring all the fun activities the Boise area has to offer! 

Rachel N, Speech-Language Pathologist

Academics and Special Achievements Rachel completed her undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Utah. She graduated with a Master of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology in 2021.

Special Interests and Experience Rachel has experience in outpatient rehabilitation, private clinics, and school settings. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Rachel gained extensive experience in and a special love for teletherapy. She enjoys working with children of all ages and their caregivers, especially in the areas of phonological disorders and early language development.

Personal Interests Rachel loves to spend time with her nephews and niece. She enjoys biking, swimming, reading, and jigsaw puzzles. Rachel strives to view every day as an opportunity to learn and expand her skills and mindset.

Saunja C, Speech-Language Pathologist

Academics and Special Achievements Saunja received both her Master’s and Bachelor’s Degrees from Idaho State University, graduating with Highest Honors in 2016. While at ISU, Saunja completed her Master’s Thesis on Autism and the Social Feedback Loop between Infants and Caregivers. She was honored to be asked to present her thesis work at the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA) conference in Colorado (2015). She was also honored to receive the Research Mentoring Pair Travel Award (RMPTA) for ASHA in Florida (2014).

Special Interests and Experience Saunja has worked as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, and California. She has clinical experience helping children and adults with their speech, language, fluency, pragmatics, cognition, dysphagia, voice disorders, stroke/TBI communication needs. Saunja has worked in schools, hospitals, private practice, skilled nursing homes, and home health care settings. As an energetic and organized professional, she is committed to providing the highest quality of patient care, utilizing evidence-based practice, and enhanced communication through interdisciplinary teamwork. She is thrilled to be a part of the Chatterbox Pediatric Therapy team!

Personal Interests In her free time, Saunja loves to spend time with her husband, four children, daughter in law, and grandson. Saunja enjoys playing the piano and the organ. She also likes to do puzzles, sew and quilt, ride bikes, and be outdoors with her family.

Amaisha W, Speech-Language Pathologist

Academics and Special Achievements Amaisha graduated from Eastern Washington University with a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology in 2010. Amaisha is trained in the LAMP Words for Life program and is also trained in PROMPT. Amaisha presented at the Ohio Speech Language Hearing Association’s Annual Convention in 2017 on using voice output speech devices as a treatment tool for toddlers with language delay.

Special Interests and Experience Amaisha has worked in a variety of settings, including private clinics, schools, and hospital settings. Amaisha has a passion for working with children who use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices. She also enjoys working with infants and toddlers with language delays and children with social language deficits.

Personal Interests Amaisha enjoys traveling, hiking, and spending time with her husband, son, and dog. She is an ice cream enthusiast and enjoys making ice cream and creating new flavors.

Josh B, Speech-Language Pathologist

Academics and Special Achievements Josh earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Oregon, and his graduate degree in speech and hearing sciences from Portland State University in 2005. As a graduate student, he was awarded a scholarship to help design and implement multidisciplinary therapy plans for children with complex medical needs. He completed his thesis on the use of story grammar in order to teach narrative structure.

Special Interests and Experience Josh spent the first four years of his career working in Early Intervention, where he provided therapy to infants and toddlers in both home and community placements. Before moving to Boise, he worked as part of the neurodevelopmental clinic at Providence Medical Center in Portland. His interests include school-age language, executive functioning, and stuttering. He has a special interest in school-aged articulation disorders.

Personal Interests Josh moved to Boise because of the wide range of outdoor activities Idaho provides. He enjoys hiking, skiing, fishing, camping and disc golf. His wife, Kristin, is also a speech-language pathologist. They have two children, and two dogs.

McKenzie B, Speech-Language Pathologist

Academics and Special Achievements McKenzie graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Brigham Young University. She also earned an Advanced Spanish Language Proficiency certificate from the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages. She then completed her Master of Science in Speech Language Pathology at the University of Utah. As an undergraduate student, McKenzie held a research position that allowed her to evaluate and treat bilingual children with language disorders in the local school district. During her graduate studies, she was able to take a learning abroad trip to Mexico, to screen native Spanish speakers for speech and language disorders. 

Experiences and Special Interests During her undergraduate years, McKenzie spent a year and a half in Peru as a volunteer where she gained fluency in Spanish. After completing various clinical rotations with many different clients and diagnoses, McKenzie discovered her love for working with the pediatric population. As a graduate student, McKenzie completed two externships; one in the local school district, and the other at Chatterbox. She is excited to continue providing therapeutic services for children in the Treasure Valley. 

Personal Interests In her free time, McKenzie loves to workout. She is a certified personal trainer and was a spin instructor. She likes to read, hike, play the piano, try new recipes, and volunteer in the community.  

Sam N, Speech-Language Pathologist

Academics and Special Achievements Samantha graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from California State University Channel Island in 2013 followed by a post-baccalaureate program in Communication Disorders at Portland State University in 2019. Samantha then proceeded on to receive her Master's in Speech-Language Pathology at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions in the summer of 2021.

Experiences and Special Interests During graduate school, Samantha spent her clinical rotations at an elementary school, specialized school for the deaf and blind as well as a private pediatric outpatient clinic. Additional experiences include acute care hospitals and an assisted living home for memory care. While in these settings, Samantha gained unique exposure into those with feeding and swallowing disorders as well as aural rehabilitation through comprehensive diagnostic procedures while working closely with families and school staff. Additionally, Samantha gained valuable experiences in providing services to a variety of client communication needs including Listening and Spoken Language (LSL), American Sign Language (ASL), Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and students with sensory impairments. Samantha has strong interests in the implementation of AAC strategies and working with those with speech sound disorders. 

Personal Interests Having moved to Idaho recently, Samantha loves to spend her free time exploring Boise and surrounding areas. She enjoys finding new and fun places to eat. She enjoys participating in adult sports leagues such as kickball and soccer. She also enjoys spending her free time socializing, cooking dinner for family and friends and is always open for a movie night as long as there is popcorn and sweets!

 

Itxaso R, Speech-Language Pathologist, Certified Orofacial Myologist

Academics and Special Achievements Itxaso graduated from Idaho State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Speech and Language Sciences and Education of the Deaf in 2012 and a Master’s of Science in Speech Language Pathology in 2014. She then went on to become a Certified Orofacial Myologist (COM).

Special Interests and Experience Itxaso has been part of the Chatterbox team as a Speech-Language Pathologist since 2014. She loves working with children of all ages. She has extensive experience working with a variety of speech and language delays. Itxaso’s favorite area of treatment is children with Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders.

Personal Interests She enjoys spending her free time alone reading. She is a huge book worm and a self-proclaimed introvert. She loves spending time with her husband and adores her niece and nephew. Her family owns Epi’s: A Basque Restaurant and she works there on the weekends as a waitress.

Julia P, Speech-Language Pathologist

Academics and Special Achievements Julia graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Brigham Young University in 2019. She then stayed at BYU to complete her Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders in the fall of 2021. While completing her graduate studies, Julia held a graduate assistantship position that allowed her to operate as a teaching assistant for the undergraduate Language Development course and the graduate Early Intervention course. She also completed a thesis that examined the effect of pause length and location on how speakers are perceived in terms of likability and communicative effectiveness.

Experiences and Special Interests During graduate school, Julia spent her pediatric clinical rotations in several elementary schools, two middle schools, and a specialized AAC team. While in these settings, Julia gained valuable exposure into the world of pediatrics, as well as experience with a variety of diagnoses and disorders, such as articulation and phonological disorders, receptive and expressive language disorders, social communication disorders, and fluency disorders. Julia enjoys working with children of all ages and disorders and is excited to make a difference as part of the Chatterbox team.

Personal Interests In her free time, Julia likes to read, hike, bake (and eat) delicious things, spend time with her husband Johnny, and play games (card, board, video, etc.). She also likes to play the french horn, sing, make ridiculous(ly good) puns, and say things in funny accents, because music and humor make life more fun.

Molly B, Speech-Language Pathologist

Academics and Special Achievements Molly completed both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in San Jose, California. She received her Master’s degree from San Jose State University in 2011. At SJSU, Molly devoted some of her studies specifically to understanding the learning patterns of children with Down Syndrome.

Special Interests and Experience For the past 7.5 years, Molly has served children with varying speech and language disorders. She is both trained in PROMPT and the Talkies program from Lindamood Bell. Molly has also taken a series of courses to increase her understanding of behavioral modification. She enjoys working with children of all ages, but has specialized in working with the early intervention population and children with autism.

Personal Interests Molly is a Nampa native and is happy to be back home to explore Idaho with her growing family. She enjoys doing all things outdoors, such as hiking, camping, snowboarding, and playing in the water. Molly really enjoys all things that allow her to lose track of the everyday grind.

Sami P, Speech-Language Pathologist

Academics and Special Achievements Sami graduated from The University of Texas at Dallas with a Bachelor’s of Science in both Speech-Language Pathology and Child Development and a Master's of Science in Communication Disorders. While in graduate school, she worked as a teaching assistant in a preschool program focused on early language development as well as a licensed Registered Behavior Technician for the state of Texas.

 

Experiences and Special Interests Throughout graduate school, Sami concentrated her interest in the pediatric and adolescent populations. She has been especially interested in working with social communication across the ages along with articulation and apraxia therapy. Her past experiences have included working in private outpatient pediatric clinics, schools, and home health care, along with working with a variety of speech and language delays and motor speech disorders. 

Personal Interests As a Texas native, Sami has immensely enjoyed exploring Treasure Valley! Sami enjoys traveling, baton twirling, and spending time with family and friends. She was a baton twirler throughout college and enjoys getting active during her time apart from work.

 

Jeni M, Speech-Language Pathologist

Academics and Special Achievements Jeni graduated from Idaho State University in 2015. As a graduate student, she worked as a graduate assistant facilitating and participating in research in the Child Language Lab. Jeni is interested in a deeper understanding of language assessment and focused her thesis research on the impact of different aspects of the standardized assessment selection process for school-based SLPs. She was honored to be a nominee for the Idaho State University Student Excellence Award.

Special Interests and Experience Jeni enjoys working with children of all ages, but is particularly interested in working with late-elementary-aged children with language impairments. Her prior experience includes working with children age preschool to 19 with a variety of speech and language disorders.

Personal Interests In her off hours, Jeni loves to create and enjoy the creations of others. She is a big fan of the theatre and even worked a few summers at the Idaho Shakespeare Festival as a stitcher in the costume department. She is also kind of a geek, so do not be surprised to find her enjoying adventuresome or fantastical stories or building with her Legos.

Lindsay S, Speech-Language Pathologist

Academics and Special Achievements Lindsay graduated from Idaho State University with a Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology in August 2017. She completed her undergraduate studies in 2008 with a degree in Health Science Studies from Boise State University. While in graduate school, Lindsay has experience in a variety of settings including private practice, elementary and middle school, and hospital (both inpatient and outpatient).

Special Interests and Experience Lindsay has been part of the Chatterbox team since the summer of 2017. She has worked with clients of all ages; however, she enjoys working with the pediatric and adolescent populations the most. During graduate school, she became interested in orofacial myology and early intervention. Lindsay also enjoys working in the areas of social language, autism spectrum disorders, early language, articulation, and phonological disorders.

Personal Interests Outside of work, Lindsay enjoys hiking in the foothills, traveling, watching a variety of movies, and spending time with her friends and family as well as her 3 yorkies, Sophie, Jack, and Roxi.

Paige N, Speech-Language Pathologist

Academics and Special Achievements Paige graduated from Idaho State University with a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology in December 2018. She worked as a graduate research assistant, facilitating and participating in research focused on interdisciplinary fluency treatment and neurological components of fluency. She has been honored to present her research and be a part of research that has been presented at local, regional, national, and international levels.

Special Interests and Experience Paige has worked with clients of all ages and various disorders. She is particularly interested in working with people who stutter of all ages, focusing on building confidence and developing tools for success.

Personal Interests Outside of work, Paige enjoys playing games (cards, board games, video games), baking, cooking, and reading.

Sarah S, Speech-Language Pathologist

Academics and Special Achievements Sarah completed her Bachelor’s in Special Education with an endorsement in Early Childhood at Gonzaga University in 2014. She is a certified special education teacher in the state of Washington. She graduated from Washington State University (WSU) in 2018 with a Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology. Upon graduation, Sarah received the following awards from WSU: Lynn Larrigan Clinical Excellence Award and Student Spotlight Award.

Special Interests and Experience During her time in graduate school, Sarah worked in school and clinic-based settings to provide speech and language services for children with a variety of communication disorders. Sarah has a passion for working with preschoolers and stresses the importance of early intervention that young children need to succeed before school entrance. She served as a student clinician and researcher in an intensive speech therapy camp at WSU. This camp is designed for children with severe childhood apraxia of speech (CAS), and implements a phonological awareness approach and Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC).

Personal Interests Sarah was a competitive dancer and continues to take classes when she can. Sarah also enjoys being outdoors. She likes to go boating, camping, fishing, hiking, and skiing.

 
 

Chatterbox Occupational Therapy Team

Davina D, Occupational Therapy Assistant

Academics and Special Achievements Davina graduated with honors from the Brown Mackie College campus based in Greenville, SC (2012) with an Associates of Applied Science of Occupational Therapy and holds certification with the National Board for Occupational Therapy as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.

Special Interests and Experience Prior to Chatterbox, Davina practiced in the state of South Carolina where she worked in the home setting. Working with newborn – 3 years of age was quite a treasured experience for her. She has also worked with children from various backgrounds and diagnoses, such as bipolar disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, sensory processing disorder, and children ranging on the autism spectrum.

Davina enjoyed learning how to adapt to each home environment and practice a child-based approach to therapy. It was truly a wonderful learning curve to change each session based on whatever the family’s climate was, that could mean one session being outside on a playground to the next being based in the kitchen. It was an eye opener to see how much sensory input life provides.

Personal Interests Davina comes from a Haitian-American family. She was brought up with Haitian Creole, French, and English in the home. She speaks French and English fluently. Learning new things adds spice to life, so that ranges anything from learning a new language, living abroad, rock climbing, inventing new dishes, drawing, jewelry-making, and the list goes on!

Michelle V, Occupational Therapy Assistant

Academics and Special Achievements Michelle is a graduate of Brown Mackie College in Boise, ID (2014) with an Associates of Applied Science for Occupational Therapy and holds certification with the National Board for Occupational Therapy as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. She is currently certified in Interactive Metronome and Bal-A-Vis-X.

Special Interests and Experience Michelle joined the Chatterbox team in October 2015. She has worked in a variety of settings and with various diagnoses. Prior to becoming a COTA, Michelle worked with school aged children for 15 years at the Treasure Valley YMCA as a before/after school lead counselor, kinder program counselor, and CDL Bus Driver.

Personal Interests Michelle is originally from Virginia, and came to Idaho in 2001 to visit and never left. She met her husband in 2005, who is also from Virginia, and they were married in 2006. They love the outdoors and anything that can get them outside all year round. Michelle and her husband love to camp, hike, and explore this great part of the USA called the Pacific Northwest.

Emily W, Occupational Therapist

Academics and Special Achievements Emily graduated from the University of Saint Augustine in San Marcos, CA with a Masters in Occupational therapy in 2017.

Special Interests and Experience Emily worked with preschool to high school aged students in the public school system before moving to Boise. Prior to becoming an OT, she worked as a behavioral therapist, so she feels confident helping children with behavioral difficulties. Emily has been trained in the SOS Approach to Feeding and specializes in helping kiddos with feeding difficulties expand their diet and make mealtime more enjoyable for the entire family!

Personal Interests Emily recently moved from California to Boise and is loving all of the outdoor activities. She is an ultrarunner and completed a 50 mile race this past year. Besides running, Emily enjoys listening to country music, paddle boarding, and anything outdoors. She is looking forward to getting into some snow sports this winter.

Jane C., Occupational Therapist

Academics and Special Achievements Jane has extensive experience in occupational therapy and early childhood education. She earned her Master's in Occupational Therapy from New York University in 1990 and holds a Teaching Certification in Montessori preschool education for 3 to 6-year-olds.

Special Interests Having recently relocated from Vermont to Boise, Jane brings a wealth of experience from her work in the public school system, where she served students across a wide age range, from preschool to high school. Her approach to development is holistic, drawing from various treatment modalities and theoretical perspectives. One of her most meaningful accomplishments includes collaborating with a speech and language therapist and a special education teacher/behavioralist to develop a successful self-contained program for non-verbal children with autism, a project she dedicated the past five years to.

Personal Interests Jane's journey has taken her from New York City to the tranquil woods of Vermont and now to the vibrant Boise community. She and her husband enjoy the city's amenities, from urban exploration to outdoor activities with their dog. With most of her family residing in Boise, Jane appreciates the closeness to her loved ones. She is the proud mother of two grown sons, one residing in Salt Lake City and the other in Albany, New York.

Laura M, Occupational Therapist

Academics and Special Achievements Laura graduated with her Master of Arts in Occupational Therapy from University of Southern California in 1996. While working on her Masters in Los Angeles, she was able to complete a four-month Sensory Integration Theory and Treatment course at the Ayres Clinic in Torrance. After completing the course, she then completed the training needed to administer the SIPT (Sensory Integration and Praxis Test). Since then, she has taken more recent Sensory Integration Theory and Treatment courses and taught courses on Sensory Integration to parents, teachers and local therapists. She developed and implemented a social skills group for children, as well as a self-regulation group, while working at an outpatient clinic in Illinois.

Special Interest and Experience After graduating from USC, Laura worked at two pediatric clinics in Southern California where she worked with children in the clinic with a variety of diagnoses, as well as worked in the schools. In 1998, she and her husband relocated to the Chicago suburbs and lived there until August 2020. While in the Chicago area, she worked at a specialized school for children with Autism, Illinois early intervention, and an outpatient pediatric clinic. During her time in Illinois, she had training in many areas of treatment such as Neuro-developmental approach, SOS, Therapeutic Listening, Kiniesiotaping, ADOS (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule) and was part of the Early Intervention Diagnostic team.

Personal Interest Laura grew up in Southern California where she met and married her husband of 24 years. A year after they married, they moved to the suburbs of Chicago in Illinois where they have raised their four children, 3 biological and one through adoption. They relocated to Treasure Valley in August 2020 due to a new job opportunity for Laura’s husband. They are enjoying the warmer weather, no humidity and access to mountains. They added a puppy to their family in November and this new addition has added much joy to the family. Laura enjoys hiking, walking her dog, playing outside with her kids, reading books, listening to podcasts, learning new things and camping.

Jensen H, Physical Therapist

Academics and Special Achievements Jensen was born and raised in Klamath Falls, Oregon where she participated in various sports year around, including Volleyball, Basketball, and Track and Field. She also participated in FFA, 4-H and local community service organizations. She later went on to graduate from the University of Oregon (Sco ducks!) in 2019 where she got her Bachelors of Science, and learned to ride a bike at the age of 22. She then pursued her passion for exercise and health in 2020 by attending Idaho State University (ISU) to obtain her Doctorate of Physical Therapy.

Special Interests and Experience While attending college, Jensen worked as an aide with children of all ages at OHSU’s Child Development and Rehabilitation Center. Once at ISU, she learned that she loved working with children in a therapeutic setting, which was further solidified after doing a clinical rotation at Chatterbox at the beginning of 2023. Throughout her graduate school experience, Jensen has volunteered with local organizations such as Game Changers and YMCA Fireflies. Feel free to ask her how to get plugged into these programs!

Personal Interests When she is not working, she enjoys riding her bike on the greenbelt (usually successfully), playing volleyball with her friends, riding horses, searching town for the best food, and stealing her friend’s dogs!

Emily Tuttle, Learning Academy and Marketing Director, Speech-Language Pathologist

Academics and Special Achievements Emily graduated from Idaho State University with a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology in 2012. While at ISU, Emily completed a Master’s thesis on AAC devices. Emily is Hanen Certified for the course, “It Takes Two To Talk,” which focuses on teaching parents how to encourage their young child’s language development. Emily has also received specialized training to address a variety of attention and learning challenges in school-aged children and adults.

Special Interests and Experience Emily has been apart of the Chatterbox team since 2012. Emily previously worked as a Developmental Therapy Technician for 5 years. Emily thoroughly enjoys working with children with Autism and Down Syndrome, as well as children with speech and language delays.

Personal Interests Emily enjoys cooking (mainly eating), trying new restaurants, traveling, listening to music, and spending time with her family and friends. An interesting fact about Emily is that she has traveled to over 13 countries!

Sydnee B, Learning Academy Clinician

Sydnee recently graduated from BSU with a BA in Educational Studies and certificates in ASL, Early Intervention, Special Education, and Leadership. At BSU, Sydnee had the opportunity to work at the Children’s Center on campus, as well as supported students in their transition to college by leading orientation programs and class registration. Sydnee’s career goal is to be a speech-language pathologist, and will be starting the Post-Baccalaureate program at Idaho State University. Sydnee grew up in Oregon, before moving to Idaho for college. She loves being outside in any capacity, reading, watching and playing sports, traveling or exploring new parts of Boise, and whipping up the best cup of coffee in the Treasure Valley! Fun Fact: Sydnee’s mom is a speech-language pathologist, which is what sparked her interest in the field!

Christina Adams, Administrative Services Manager

Christina has been working as the Administrative Services Manager at Chatterbox since July of 2013, when she moved here from New Mexico. Christina is married to her husband, Brad, and they have two boys, Kyle and Ryan. Christina has been in Accounting for over 30 years! She enjoys working with our adorable patients and their families. She loves her job and her incredible coworkers! She enjoys baseball games, summer nights and hanging out with friends & family!

Caitlynn Moore, Customer Service Representative

Caitlynn joined the team in July of 2021. Before Chatterbox, she worked at a local emergency vet for two years and while she loved working with the animals she prefers to work with kids! She is planning on earning her degree and becoming a teacher. In her free time, she is either outdoors with her two dogs or spending time with her family and friends! Caitlynn is very excited and grateful to be part of the Chatterbox team.

Vanessa Carrillo, Bilingual Customer Service Representative

Vanessa is originally from Eastern Oregon and graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in Family and Human Services in 2019. A lot of her background is in intervention work and working with children with disabilities, which she really enjoyed! She loves working with children and families and her goal is to become an SLP. Vanessa’s parents migrated from Mexico before she was born and she is bilingual, so she has a passion for helping Spanish speaking families.  She currently lives in Nampa with her son and enjoys taking him out on mini adventures. Vanessa loves spending time with her family and exploring whenever she gets the chance. 

Herb Sandoval, Executive Services Manager

Herb has worked at Chatterbox since November of 2013. He enjoys listening to TEX-MEX music, dancing and taking a long evening walk, spending time with family and friends. Herb has two children, Eliana and Alexander with his wife, Esmeralda. They also have three dogs, Duke, Rocky and Mocha. Herb has worked in Healthcare (Revenue Cycle) for over 30 years and enjoys every moment of what he does.

Jessica Morales, Bilingual Customer Service Representative

Jessica is the oldest of 4 children, who was born in Nampa, Idaho, but lived in California and Mexico before returning to the area at age 18. Jessica is a licensed cosmetologist and has experience in customer service in the dental/medical field. Jessica is a single mother of 2 children who enjoys spending time with her family, going to the gym, dancing, loves Banda, and visiting her parent’s hometowns in Mexico. She is excited to learn and grow at Chatterbox. Her role model is her dad, who is hardworking and dedicated to his family!

 

Jenny Price, Revenue Cycle Representative

Jenny has been working at Chatterbox since February 2015. She is married to her husband, Karter, and they have two wonderful children. They also have two rescued border collies Bentlee and Dayzee, and two rescued cats James and Binx. In her spare time she loves spending time with family, dirt biking, mountain biking, kayaking, and being outdoors. Jenny is part of a large family; she has five brothers and one sister. Jenny loves working at Chatterbox because she gets to be around little kids all day and see how they grow and develop.

Mikayla Sopchak, Intake Coordinator

Mikayla graduated from Metropolitan State University in Denver with a Bachelor’s degree in Speech, Language and Hearing Science and a Minor in Special Education. She moved to Boise in 2019 with her husband and their fur baby Cassidy the GoldenDoodle. Mikayla has fallen in love with Boise in the short time that she has been here. With all of its outdoor adventures to be had and friendly people to meet it reminds her of her childhood growing up in Montana. When Mikayla isn’t hiking or biking with her dog, she loves to explore her artistic side. She paints, does pottery, macramé and anything else crafty that she can dream up. Mikayla has always been drawn to working with and helping kids and is so excited to be part of the Chatterbox family!

 

Beth Kirby, Customer Service Representative/Intake Coordinator

Beth is originally from Illinois, and moved to Idaho in 2017 with her husband who is from Boise. Beth has her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice. She has been working with kids since she was in high school. In the past, Beth has worked as an art teacher, preschool aide, swim instructor, and swim coach. She is very artistic and loves learning new skills. One of her favorite things to do in her down time is embroidery and cooking. Beth loves spending time with family and friends with a wonderful home cooked meal. Beth also loves being outdoors and enjoying the beauty of nature. Water sports are one of her favorite things to do outside. Her and her husband love kayaking, camping, and jet skiing. She is very excited to learn the new skills that Chatterbox has to offer, and loves being part of the Chatterbox family!

Kamie Christiansen, Marketing Outreach Coordinator

Kamie joined the Chatterbox team in December 2014. She received her degree at Utah State University in Fashion Marketing and worked as a retail buyer for a large department store in Portland, Oregon. Kamie choose to leave the long hours and travel of the retail world to allow her more time with her three kids and formed and was head coach of a USA competitive swim team in Washington state.

Later her sister developed a food business and Kamie joined the business in sales and marketing expanding the business products into multiple stores and states.

Kamie’s interests include home decorating, biking, doing anything active outside and trying new restaurants exploring unique food options.
